Main Street Fall Festival winners announced

For chili cook-off and car show

Sallisaw’s Main Street and Chamber of Commerce have announced the winners of the 2024 Sallisaw Main Street Fall Festival chili cook-off and car show, which were held Saturday in Sallisaw.

Sallisaw’s Main Street and Chamber of Commerce have announced the winners of the 2024 Sallisaw Main Street Fall Festival chili cook-off and car show, which were held Saturday in Sallisaw.

The event, formerly known as Cruizin’ 64, was jam packed with entries and festival-goers as people placed their favorite votes for the best chili. Individuals purchased chili tasting kits for $10 while enjoying live music by Ted Capps at Stage Park, and shopping with local vendors set up along the street.

Chili cook-off winners were as follows:

1-Alarm Category – The Red Hot Chili Clerks with their mouthwatering ‘Lick the Bowl’ chili.

2-Alarm Category – The Green Team with their fiery ‘Shotgun Willie’ chili.

3-Alarm Category -The 2-B Chili Team with their ‘Beyond 2 Hot’ chili.

People’s Choice – The Buckin’ Broncos with their delicious ‘Buck Up’ 2-alarm chili.

The winners also received prize money, trophies, and other items donated by local merchants.

Winners of the car show were as follows:

People’s Choice Award – Jan Ingram with a 1948 Chevy Truck.

Best of Show Car – Jim Gattis and his 1955 Ford Fairlane.

Best in Show Truck – James Frey and his 1955 Ford F-100.

Old School – Jim Crosthwait and his 1967 Chevy.

Special Interest – Ken Ogden with his 2006 Chevy SSR.

Pedal Car – Michael Hawk with his Ford Firetruck.

In addition, the TOP 25 Winners who brought their A-game to the show were also recognized:
