Sallisaw boys come up short at Claremore

CLAREMORE — The Sallisaw Black Diamonds suffered a heartbreaking 48-46 road loss to the host Claremore Zebras on Friday night.

In defeat, Tae Muskrat-Flynn eclipsed the 20-point mark for the second straight game this season as he scored exactly 20 points to lead the Black Diamonds (1-1). Cooper Cox scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds, Cooper Carter scored nine points and had three boards and Cooper Jackson added six points, five rebounds and four assists.

WEBBERS FALLS 55, CAVE SPRINGS 52

Monday night at Webbers Falls Event Center, the Warriors (2-1) trailed 13-9 after a quarter but outscored the Hornets 11-5 in the second quarter to take a 20-18 halftime lead. After the Hornets regained the lead at 35-34 after three quarters, the Warriors used a 2117 final period to snatch away the win from the jaws of defeat.

For the game, three Webbers Falls players hit for double figures, led by Luke Pierce with 15 points, followed by Thadan Yandell with 11 points and Gunner Shelby with 10 points. Brutus Robinson had eight points, followed by Chevy Cole with six points, Elliott Kunkel with four points and Wyatt Scheeland with a free throw.

GORE 66, MCCURTAIN 37

Friday night at Gore Event Center, the Pirates (1-0 overall, 1-0 in conference play) put away the game early, jumping out to a 17-4 lead after a quarter and were never headed.

For the game, Tate Brooksher led Gore with 20 points, followed by Cain Cooper and Eli Munson with 12 points each, Nash Thouvenel with nine points, Duane Hunt with seven points and Keeton Rowe and Benson Hunt with three points apiece.

ROLAND 77, QUINTON 35

Friday night at Quinton Event Center, the Runnin’ Rangers (2-0) put away the game early, taking a 20-2 lead after a quarter and were never headed.

For the game, Damonte Owens led all scorers with a game-high 19 points, followed by Kayden Hartt, Nate Criswell and Hunter Burris with eight points each, Buck Triplett and Mason Kemp each with seven points, Cade Shook with five points, Landon Fowler and Camren Hartt with four points each, Raesean Perryman and Brady Edmondson each with three points and Nathan Cheek with a free throw.

CENTRAL 56, WARNER 24

Friday night at Warner Events Center, the Tigers (1-0) led 15-9 after a quarter, 24-12 at halftime and 40-20 after three quarters.

For the game, the Tigers had a trio of players hit for double figures, led by Hardy Buzzard’s gamehigh 16 points, followed by Aidan Sainer’s 14 points and Josh Brunk’s 12 points. Noah Buzzard had six points, followed by Braxin Goodson’s four points and O’Dell Parker and Cale Stewart with two points apiece.

OKAY 76, WEBBERS FALLS 41

Friday night in Okay, the Mustangs jumped out to a 21-13 lead after a quarter, which became a 39-22 halftime advantage and a 65-29 lead going into the final period.

In defeat, Thadan Yandell led the Warriors (1-1 in Riverside Conference play) with 12 points, followed by Gunner Shelby and Eli Hefflin with seven points each, Luke Pierce with five points, Brutus Robinson and Trysten Wilbourn each with three points and Chevy Cole and Wyatt Scheeland with two points.
