Sallisaw girls get road victory over Claremore

CLAREMORE — The Sallisaw Lady Diamonds capped a perfect opening week to the season with a come-frombehind 47-37 victory over the Claremore Lady Zebras on Friday night.

Down 10-5 after a quarter, the Lady Diamonds (2-0) outscored the Lady Zebras 42-27 over the final three quarters to get the comeback win.

For the game, Kayli Macon scored a game-high 20 points to lead Sallisaw, followed by Hannah Palmer and Alayna Locust-Trammell with nine points each, Katelyn Carlton with five points, Sydney Weedon with three points and Emma Martin with a free throw.

CENTRAL 42, WARNER 34

Friday night at Warner Event Center, the Lady Tigers (10) broke an 8-all tie after the opening period with a 10-7 second quarter to take a 1815 lead at halftime. A 12-5 third quarter upped Central’s advantage to 30-20 entering the final period.

For the game, Cambree Bair scored a game-high 17 points and Haley Cheek added 10 points to lead Central, followed by Hadlie Woods with seven points, Ayrland Jiles with four points and Ryleigh Pierce and Paris Campbell with two points apiece.

MCCURTAIN 35, GORE 31 OT

Friday night at Gore Event Center, McCurtain’s Kaylee Culwell hit a 3-point basket with two seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 31-all to force overtime. She then scored all four points of the OT to cap the come-frombehind victory.

In defeat, Kennedy Williams led the Lady Pirates (0-1 overall, 0-1 in Riverside Conference play) with 12 points, followed by Rayleigh Moore with eight points and Ricki Huckbay, Emily Daily and Sophie O’Connor with three points apiece.

QUINTON 48, ROLAND 39

Friday night at Quinton Event Center, the Lady Rangers (0-2) led 14-6 after a quarter, but the Lady Savages used a 22-8 second period to take a 28-22 halftime lead en route to a 3930 third-quarter advantage.

In defeat, Haven Freeman led all scorers with a game-high 18 points for Roland, followed by Halle Freeman with 10 points, Ryanne Nelke with seven points and Lilly Cole with four points.

CAVE SPRINGS 53, WEBBERS FALLS 35

Monday night at Webbers Falls Event Center, the Lady Warriors (1-2) lost their second straight game after winning last week’s season opener over Arkoma.

In defeat, Bridgette Baer led Webbers Falls with 12 points, followed by Bailey Ward with nine points, Kailey Mannon, Aubri Spears, Madison Smith and Abbie Patterson with three points each and Cheyanne Herrier with two points.

OKAY 77, WEBBERS FALLS 23

Friday night in Okay, the Lady Mustangs jumped out to a 25-7 lead after a quarter and never looked back.

In defeat, Bailey Ward led the Lady Warriors (1-1 in Riverside Conference play) with six points, followed by Madison Smith with five points, Paisley Turley with four points, Cheyanne Herrier and Bridgette Baer with three points each and Kailey Mannon with two points.
