Black Diamonds see 3 grapplers earn titles at Sapulpa

SAPULPA — The Sallisaw Black Diamonds wrestling team saw three members win titles at last weekend’s Jerry Billings Tournament.

Cason Craft (113 pounds), Cole Mayfield (157) and Bodie Adams (175) all won championships.

Three other five Black Diamonds who participated in the Friday-Saturday event placed as Morgan Duke was third at 120 pounds, Hunter Smith was sixth at 190 and Kash Keepes was eighth at 215.

As a team, the Black Diamonds finished in seventh place with 214.5 points.

The Sallisaw junior high wrestlers competed at the Wagoner Tournament, where two Black Diamonds placed as Toren Gates was runner-up at 86 pounds and Briar James was fourth at 155 pounds.

The Black Diamonds, who were slated to be in their District 4A-8 Duals at home Tuesday afternoon, will have their own tournament, the Paul Post Tournament, on Friday and Saturday at Paul Post Field House.
