CLASS 2A, A DISTRICT ASSIGNMENTS ANNOUNCED

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA) announced the district assignments for Class 2A and A.

Only Central received good news as the Lady Tigers and Tigers were named a Class 2A District Tournament host with the Hulbert teams visiting.

The other Class 2A district assignment saw the Vian Lady Wolverines and Wolverines sent to Talihina.

All Class A teams were sent on the road for their respective district assignments.

Gore and Davenport, located on Highway 66 between Chandler and Stroud, were sent to Quinton, Gans and Porum were sent to Weleetka and Webbers Falls and Cameron were sent to Red Oak.

All district tournaments are slated for Feb. 14-15.

The district assignments for Class 3A (Roland) and Class 4A (Sallisaw and Muldrow) should be announced by the OSSAA either at the end of this week or next week.

MULDROW CLASS OF 2025 HOF INDUCTION SLATED FRIDAY

On Friday night during the home NOAA Conference games against Poteau, the Class of 2025 Muldrow High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductees, Archer Ryan and Shannon Watts, will be enshrined.

Ryan, a 1974 graduate of MHS, participated in football, basketball, baseball and track for the Bulldogs. He attended Northeastern State University where he received his degree in education. He spent 40 years as a coach and teacher for Muldrow Schools, 25 of those years as the head baseball coach where he accumulated more than 300 wins. He remains involved in MHS athletics as he does commentary for football and basketball games.

Watts, a 1986 graduate of MHS, participated in football, basketball and powerlifting for the Bulldogs. He was a standout football player for the Bulldogs, playing quarterback for one the most successful teams at Muldrow. His 1985 team made it to the state semifinal game. He was named NOAA Conference Offensive Player of Year and was selected to participate in the Oklahoma vs. Texas Oil Bowl football game.

WEEK 7 INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS

To start off, we had a local player eclipse the 30-point mark as Gore’s Cain Cooper hit for 35 points in Saturday night’s road loss to Panama.

On Friday night, Cooper’s teammate Tate Brooksher scored a game-high 20 points in a homecoming win over Kinta.

Muldrow’s Jesse Kilinc scored a gamehigh 27 points in the Bulldogs’ NOAA Conference win over Sallisaw on Jan. 28.

Roland’s Molly Carver scored a gamehigh 22 points to lead the Lady Rangers past NOAA Conference rival Checotah on Jan. 28.

Vian’s Masyn Wright scored a gamehigh 25 points in his team’s Big 8 Conference victory over Westville on Jan. 28 and a game-high 20 points in the Wolverines’ road loss Saturday to Spiro.
