Gore students take a tour of OSU
The Gore Elementary Character Council and Gore 4-H Club had an exciting opportunity to tour the Oklahoma State University (OSU) engineering labs, exploring civil, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, and chemical engineering. Students also made a stop at the OSU Library before heading to Gallagher-Iba Arena to cheer on the Cowgirls vs. Wildcats women’s basketball game.
The Gore Elementary Character Council and Gore 4-H Club had an exciting opportunity to tour the Oklahoma State University (OSU) engineering labs, exploring civil, mechanical, electrical, aerospace, and chemical engineering. Students also made a stop at the OSU Library before heading to Gallagher-Iba Arena to cheer on the Cowgirls vs. Wildcats women’s basketball game.
The tour was facilitated by Warren Lewis, MS, a 1987 Gore Pirates alumnus and Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology & Mechatronics & Robotics Technology at OSU.
Lewis has been with OSU since 2001 and brings extensive industry experience from The Charles Machine Works (Ditch Witch) and Central Machine and Tool. His expertise and passion for engineering made this a memorable and inspiring experience for the students.
The school and students wish to thank Lewis for giving them a behind-thescenes look at OSU’s cutting-edge engineering programs and for showing them where hard work and curiosity can lead.
They also want to extend a huge thank you to their bus driver, Rick Shry, for keeping them safe on the trip to Payne County; Sequoyah County Extension Director Todd Trennepohl for accompanying the group; and Gore Ag Boosters for generously providing lunch for our 4-H’ers.
