Lady Diamonds get past Stilwell
STILWELL — The Sallisaw Lady Diamonds picked up an NOAA Conference road victory Tuesday night as they defeated the host Stilwell Lady Indians 53-44 at Stilwell Activity Center.
STILWELL — The Sallisaw Lady Diamonds picked up an NOAA Conference road victory Tuesday night as they defeated the host Stilwell Lady Indians 53-44 at Stilwell Activity Center.
The Lady Diamonds (15-6 overall, 6-3 in NOAA Conference play) broke a 13-all tie at the end of the opening period by outscoring the Lady Indians 14-7 in the second quarter to take a 27-20 lead at halftime.
The Lady Indians (3-18, 1-8) outscored the Lady Diamonds 1611 in the third quarter to cut their deficit to 38-36 entering the final period.
However, the Lady Diamonds kept the Lady Indians at bay in the fourth quarter, outscoring them 15-8 in the final eight minutes of the contest.
For the game, Sallisaw put a trio of players into double figures, led by Sydney Weedon’s game-high 15 points, followed by Alayna Locust-Trammell’s 12 points and Emma Martin’s 10 points. Kayli Macon scored eight points, followed by Hannah Palmer with five points, and Channing Wilson with three points.
MULDROW 40, CHECOTAH 37
Tuesday night at Checotah, the Lady Bulldogs (14-8 overall, 7-2 in NOAA Conference play) doubled the host Lady Wildcats (11-9, 4-5) in the first quarter by a count of 14-7 en route to an 18-9 halftime advantage and a 25-17 lead going into the final period.
For the game, London Hardin scored a game-high 17 points and Kilah Ellingberg added 12 points to lead Muldrow, followed by Jensi Fields with five points, Danica Tune with three points, Maysi Fields with two points and Kayla Ellingberg with a free throw.
ROLAND 51, POTEAU 16
Tuesday night at Poteau High School’s Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse, the Lady Rangers (16-4 overall, 9-0 in NOAA Conference play) put away their game against the Lady Pirates (3-16, 0-9) early as Roland took a 22-4 lead after a quarter and never were headed.
For the game, Roland put a trio of players into double figures, led by Ryanne Nelke’s game-high 19 points, followed by Haven Freeman’s 11 points and Halle Freeman’s 10 points. Lilly Cole had five points, followed by Julianna Trujillo with four points and Molly Carver with two points.
