SALLISAW TOPS

Meal planning is the challenge

By Billie Anthony

We had twelve TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and one KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) in attendance today. We had a chapter net loss of 8.8 pounds. I had the best weight loss of 4.8 pounds this past week. Brenda M won the Two Bit Bowl of $6.55. We have two more blocks left on our Lucky Lotto, so we will have a big winner next Monday. On our Surprise Box we only need four stickers to be added and we will have a winner for the box. We will begin two new contests for our group next week. Our Chapter Challenge this coming week is to plan our meals for seven days.

Our weight recorder, Donna, brought our program to day. She has been on a life style change meal plan that has been working for her. The plan has helped her bring down her A1C from 6.9 to 5.6. She was concerned she would be diagnosed a diabetic, but with this meal plan, she is not having to take any medication for diabetes. Very good job, Donna! TOPS CLUB supports the diet plan you want, as long as it is healthy. She uses Barton Nutrition which appoints her a coach. Every meal has protein and healthy fats, carbs change with the different time of the day. The foods you like to eat for the week is from a list of recommended food. There are starchy carbs, simple carbs, fibrous carbs, protein and healthy fat. I think a couple of our members will try her plan and hopefully be as successful as she has. Donna lost 26 pounds last year.

Beginning January 1, 2025, TOPS CLUB INC. membership will increase to $70 a year for first time member, $60 a year for first time renewal member and $48 for second or more renewal members.

We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10:00am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10:00am and the meeting starts at 11 am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
