COLUMBIA, Mo. — The No. 21-ranked Missouri Tigers used a strong performance on the defensive end and a career-best 19 points from junior Mark Mitchell to cruise past Oklahoma 82-58 at home Wednesday night.

Mizzou improved to 18-6 overall and 7-4 in Southeastern Conference action, while the Sooners fell to 16-8 overall and 3-8 in SEC play.

Caleb Grill had 15 points and Tony Perkins added 12 for the Tigers, who snapped a twogame skid.

Mitchell shot 6-of-12 from the field, 13-for-18 at the free-throw line and grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.

Duke Miles scored 18 points, his most in 12 outings, and Jalon Moore added 10 points and a game-high-tying seven rebounds for OU, which was playing its fifth straight APranked opponent.

Missouri never trailed in the first half and pulled away on a 10-0 run after Moore hit two free throws that cut OU’s deficit to 13-11 with 13:50 remaining.

It was the 213th meeting between the former Big 8 and Big 12 foes, but the first since they played in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. OU leads the series 115-98.

The Sooners will return to action against Louisiana State University at 5 p.m. Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center.
