Basketball seasons come to an end for Gans, Webbers Falls boys; Roland routs Checotah

WELEETKA — The 2024-25 basketball season came to a close Friday night for the Gans Grizzlies as they lost 48-27 to the Porum Panthers in opening round of the Class A District Tournament.

WELEETKA — The 2024-25 basketball season came to a close Friday night for the Gans Grizzlies as they lost 48-27 to the Porum Panthers in opening round of the Class A District Tournament.

The Grizzlies (0-23) fell behind 14-6 after a quarter, trailed 32-14 at the half and 43-22 after three periods.

In defeat, Austin Hines led Gans with 10 points, followed by TaeShawn Achan with eight points, Gabriel Christopherson with three points and Cristian Gaona, Aidan Garcia and Jarrett Frazier-Barter with two points apiece.

CAMERON 61, WEBBERS FALLS 54

Friday night at the Class A District Tournament at Red Oak High School’s C.C. Gillespie Fieldhouse, the Yellowjackets rallied from a 31-26 halftime deficit by outscoring the Warriors 35-23 in the second half to get the comeback victory.

In defeat, Chevy Cole led the Warriors (8-14) with 20 points, followed by Luke Pierce with 15 points, Thadan Yandell with nine points, Eli Hefflin with seven points and Gunner Shelby with three points.

ROLAND 72, CHECOTAH 45

Friday night at the Ranger Dome, after leading only by five points at 19-14 after a quarter and three points at halftime at 30-27, the Runnin’ Rangers (20-1 overall, 10-0 in NOAA Conference play) broke open the game as they doubled the Wildcats 18-9 in the third quarter to take a 48-36 lead into the final period. A 24-9 fourth quarter sealed the deal for Roland.

For the game, Damonte Owens scored a game-high 32 points to lead Roland, followed by Buck Triplett with 10 points, Kade Shook with eight points, Mason Kemp with seven points, Kayden Hartt with six points, Landon Fowler with four points, Raesean Perryman with three points and Cason Perryman with two points.
