Sallisaw TOPS

Shine like a star

By Billie Anthony

We had 11 TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and one new member in attendance today. Welcome to our Chapter. Lynda had the best weight loss of 2.1 pounds this past week. Donna won the Two Bit Bowl of $2.25. Our Lucky Lotto contest ended today with Lynda winning. Congratulations on the big win, Lynda! Lynda was also the winner of our Surprise Box. She won a beautiful glass bowl with lid. We will begin the Lucky Lotto contest again next week. Also, we will begin our Ladder Contest. Our Chapter Challenge this coming week is to Walk More. Again, welcome to our Chapter to our new member.

Our program came out of the new TOPS NEWS magazine for March/April. The article Twinkle, Twinkle was read to the members. Shine like a star as you lose weight. From ancient times to today, sailors and other travelers have used stars to guide them along their journey. This was to be a contest, but I thought it was cute to read and encourage our members. With each week of weight loss by TOPS members or another week that KOPS stay at or below goal, another star is added to a poster. Light up the sky. When a star is added to the display, members initial or sign their name to the heavenly body to keep track of members’ achievements. Count the number of signatures/initials to determine who takes home any prize to be awarded. Continue to encourage everyone in the chapter to make healthy choices as they journey to better health. We might run a contest with this program later this summer.

Beginning January 1, TOPS CLUB INC. membership will increase to $70 a year for first time member, $60 a year for first time renewal member and $48 for second or more renewal members.

We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10:00am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10:00am and the meeting starts at 11 am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
