FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas women’s basketball team dropped its final Sunday game in Bud Walton Arena of the season, losing 94-54 to No. 16 Oklahoma (21-6, 9-5).

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas women’s basketball team dropped its final Sunday game in Bud Walton Arena of the season, losing 94-54 to No. 16 Oklahoma (21-6, 9-5).

The Hogs (9-20 overall, 2-12 in Southeastern Conference play) kept it close going into halftime down eight points at halftime, but the Sooners (216, 9-5), led by center Reagan Beers’ 30 points and seven rebounds, outscored Arkansas 54-22 in the second half to pick up the 40-point win.

The Razorbacks got off to a slow start from 3-point land after freshman Phoenix Stotijn’s make in the opening minute of the game.

The squad showed improvement offensively in the second quarter and scored a game-high 17 points powered by 3-pointers from Karley Johnson, Jenna Lawrence and Vera Ojenuwa.

Arkansas finished the half 11-of-31 from the field.

OU put the game away in the third quarter after outscoring the Hogs 32-16. Arkansas started 3-for-3 from beyond the arc but the Sooners had an answer as they fired off an 8-0 run followed by a 15-0 run with two 3s from Beers.

Cristina Sanchez-Cerqueria ended the bleeding with a trey, her only bucket of the game.

The game’s pace slowed down to start the last quarter as both teams combined for four points in the first three minutes. After a free throw from Johnson, OU jumped out to a 40-point lead via a 22-6 run.

The Sooners finished at 45 percent from the field and made 37 of their 82 attempts.

Izzy Higginbottom entered double figures for the 26th time this season, scoring 22 points to pace the Hogs.

Arkansas will play its final home game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday against Missouri, while OU will face Florida at 6 p.m. Thursday at the O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Fla.
