Fishing Report for February 26, 2025

EUFAULA: Feb. 21. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 40 degrees and stained. Striped bass and striped bass hybrids fair on flukes, lipless baits and sassy shad below the dam, discharge and tailwater. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on cut bait, live bait, live shad and shad around channels, river channel and river mouth. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs and spoons around docks, riprap, rocks and standing timber. Report submitted by Jake Rowland, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

GRAND: Feb. 23. Elevation is a foot below normal and stable. The water temperature is 40 degrees and clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass slow on flukes, jerk baits, jigs, lipless baits, plastic baits, PowerBait and rogues around channels, inlet, main lake, points, riprap, river channel, river mouth and rocks. White bass slow on crankbaits, flukes, in-line spinnerbaits, jerk baits, small lures and spinnerbaits around channels, creek channels, discharge, inlet, main lake, points, riprap, river channel, river mouth and sandbar. Blue and channel catfish fair on chicken liver, crawfish, cut bait, shad, shrimp and slabs around main lake, points, riprap and river mouth. COMMENTS: Main lake seems to be open waters, upper end of Grand- the Neosho/Spring River is frozen in most places due to the recent cold blast the area received. Report submitted by J. LOWER ILLINOIS RIVER: Feb. 21. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature 40 degrees and clear. Rainbow trout fair on hair jigs, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs and PowerBait below the dam and shallows. COMMENTS: Current river flow 150 cubic feet per second (CFS). Report submitted by Jerry Henry, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

ROBERT S. KERR: Feb. 21. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 58 degrees and murky. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs and minnows around brush structure, channels, creek channels, inlet and standing timber. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait, dough bait, punch bait, shad and stinkbait around flats, inlet, main lake, river channel and river mouth. Report submitted by Allen Couch, game warden stationed in Haskell County.

TENKILLER: Feb. 22. Elevation is a foot above normal and stable. The water temperature is 38 degrees and clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fair on Alabama rigs, jigs and plastic baits around brush structure and channels. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on cut bait, live bait, live shad and shad around channels, main lake and river channel. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs and tube jigs around docks and main lake. Report submitted by Cody Youngblood, game warden stationed in Cherokee County.

WISTER: Feb. 21. Elevation is eight feet above normal and falling. The water temperature is 45 degrees and stained. Largemouth bass fair on jigs and plastic baits around brush structure, main lake and river channel. Blue catfish fair on cut bait and shad around river channel. Crappie good on jigs and minnows around brush structure. Report submitted by James Williams, game warden stationed in LeFlore County.
