The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation (HACN) opened applications for the newly constructed rental properties in Sallisaw on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at 8 a.m.
The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation (HACN) opened applications for the newly constructed rental properties in Sallisaw on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at 8 a.m.
The applications are open to citizens of a federally recognized tribe or those who are married to citizens. Applications can be picked up at any HACN office or may be downloaded from the HACN website. They can be submitted at the HACN Sallisaw office located at 2260 W. Cherokee.
The Redbird Smith Estates duplexes are two- and three-bedroom rental properties located on Redbird Lane. Applications will only be accepted from households that qualify for two- or three-bedroom units. Applicants must meet income guidelines and other requirements of the program. Each family’s maximum income limit will be based on 80 percent of the National Median Income. Cherokee preference will apply, but applicants from all federally recognized tribes are welcome to complete applications for this housing.
