In Monday’s Game 1 loss to Connors State, after the Lady Vikings scored first for a 1-0 lead after an inning, the Cowgirls scored 11 runs in the second inning for an 11-1 lead after two innings. A four-run third inning and a three-run fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.

In Monday’s Game 2 loss to Connors State, the Lady Vikings fell behind 6-3 after an inning but cut their deficit to 6-5 after two innings. After cutting Connors State lead back to a run at 7-6 in the fourth inning, the Cowgirls scored five runs in their half of the fourth inning to take a 12-6 lead after four innings.

In defeat, Wardrope was 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored, Berry was 2-for-5 with her third homer, four RBIs and two runs scored, Ritchie was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Autrey was 2-for-4, Basquez was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Taylor doubled for CASC.

Autrey took the loss, going three innings with a strikeout. Basquez went the final three innings.

In Tuesday’s loss to NOC-Enid, the Lady Vikings were five-hit by NOC-Enid pitcher Lillyan Ball, who struck out 10 CASC batters.

The Lady Jets scored three runs in the second inning to break a scoreless tie, then added single runs in the third and fourth innings for a 5-0 lead. NOC-Enid put the game into run-rule status with a nine-run sixth inning.

In defeat, Berry doubled, while Wardrope, Ritchie, Taylor and Tynli McCarty all singled for the Lady Vikings.

After the Lady Vikings played Arkansas State University-Three Rivers in a home Thursday afternoon doubleheader, they will meet the Arkansas State University-Newport Aviators at 1 p.m. Saturday in another home twinbill.
