Central beats Gore, lose to Porum in 3-way; Lady Panthers defeat Lady Pirates

The Central Lady Tigers split their games in Tuesday’s road three-way at Gore, beating the host Lady Pirates 10-8 but losing 3-0 to the Porum Lady Panthers, who beat the Lady Pirates 10-1.

The Central Lady Tigers split their games in Tuesday’s road three-way at Gore, beating the host Lady Pirates 10-8 but losing 3-0 to the Porum Lady Panthers, who beat the Lady Pirates 10-1.

In Central’s win over Gore, the Lady Tigers (2-2) rallied for the come-frombehind win with a three-run fifth inning to take a 10-8 lead, then held the Lady Pirates (1-3) scoreless in their half of the inning.

For the game, Alyvia Warner was 3-for-4 with a run batted in and a run scored, Jhaselyn Gonzalez was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Brenleigh Allen was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, Brianna Taylor was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored and Ayrland Jiles was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Riley Rowland (2-2) got the win.

In defeat, Hallie Brewer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Mylee Bruce was 2-for-3 for Gore.

Ricki Huckbay (0-1) took the loss, despite getting three strikeouts.

In Central’s loss to Porum, the Lady Tigers were four-hit by Porum pitcher Mesa Coulston, who had a strikeout in five innings.

The Lady Panthers broke a scoreless tie with a three-run fourth inning.

In defeat, Warner, Allen, Allie Harris and Camryn Gilliam all singled for Central.

Rowland took the loss, despite recording three strikeouts.

In Gore’s loss to Porum, the Lady Panthers took control of the game with an eight-run first inning. After the Lady Panthers scored their only run, the Lady Panthers scored twice in the third inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Huckbay and Sophie O’Connor were 2-for-2 for Gore. Bruce (12) took the loss.

VIAN 3, HEAVENER 1

Tuesday evening at Armstrong Park, the Lady Wolverines (1-0) won their season opener, thanks to breaking open a scoreless game with a three-run fourth inning.

For the contest, Halli Russell was 2-for-3 with a double, Katie Reason was 2-for-2, Aubree Craighead doubled and scored once and Tressa Sandlin doubled with a run batted in and a run scored for Vian.

Rayleigh Terrill (1-0) got the win, striking out two batters and scattering seven hits in seven innings.

HAILEYVILLE 12, GANS 8

Tuesday evening in Gans, the Lady Warriors, who fell behind 1-0 after an inning, scored eight runs in the second inning for an 8-1 lead after two innings.

A two-run third inning, a single run in the fourth inning and a three-run sixth inning helped the Lady Grizzlies (1-5) cut their deficit to 8-7 after six innings, but the Lady Warriors put away the game with a four-run seventh inning for a 12-7 lead.

In defeat, Addy Bibbs was 3-for-4 with a double and a run batted in, Aaliyah Taylor was 3-for-4 with with a double and two runs scored, Gabbie Price was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two runs scored, K’Cee Osborn was 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored, Destiny Phillips was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Makenzy Hunter was 2-for-4 with a run scored, Yesenia Gaona was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Amarys White doubled with an RBI and a run scored and Maddie Freeman doubled for Gans.

Phillips (1-2) took the loss, despite getting two strikeouts in seven innings.

HULBERT 14, WEBBERS FALLS 1, 5 INN.

Tuesday afternoon at Eual Carter Sports Complex, the Lady Riders scored three runs in the first inning for a 3-0 lead, which became a 10-0 lead in the fourth inning.

In defeat, Kendra Kimble doubled, while Bridgette Baer, Shkyra Scruggs and Rhilee Davis all singled for the Lady Warriors (1-4).

Mary Davis (0-3) suffered the loss, getting a strikeout in five innings.

KEOTA 12, GORE 4

March 6 at Keota, the Lady Lions, who trailed 2-0 after three innings, scored eight runs in the fourth inning and four runs in the seventh inning for a 12-2 lead.

In defeat, Maddison Douglass doubled and scored once, while Ricki Huckbay, River Shoemake, Sophie O’Connor, Mylee Bruce, Emily Daily and Cheyenne Davidson all singled for Gore.

Bruce took the loss, despite five Ks.

PORUM 21, GANS 3, 3 INN.

Last Friday at Porum, after the Lady Grizzlies cut their deficit to 7-3 in the second inning, the Lady Panthers put the game into run-rule status with a 14-run second inning.

In defeat, Makenzy Hunter doubled, while Destiny Phillips and Amarys White each singled as the Lady Grizzlies had only three hits in the game. Phillips took the loss.
