Former Roland pitcher gets save for Hogs in series finale against Portland
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Former Roland Rangers pitcher Carson Wiggins got his fourth collegiate save of his freshman season for the third-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks as the Hogs swept the West Coast Conference’s Portland Pilots, winning the Sunday finale 5-3 in which Wiggins got the save after the Razorbacks routed the Pilots in the first two games — 20-3 in seven innings on Friday and 10-0 in seven innings on Saturday.

In Sunday’s game, Wiggins pitched the final inning with a strikeout to record his third save of the season. So far this season, Wiggins’ earned-run average is at 2.25 with five strikeouts. The Razorbacks (16-1), who defeated Central Arkansas 9-3 on Tuesday night at Baum Walker Stadium, will begin Southeastern Conference play next weekend at Mississippi, with single games at 6:30 tonight, 1:30 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
