The Carl Albert State College softball team lost both home games to Southern Arkansas University Tech on Saturday, losing by scores of 8-6 and 21-2 in five innings.

In the opener, the visitors jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning. However, the Lady Vikings (4-11) tried to rally as, trailing 8-2 after three innings, they scored once in the fifth inning and three runs in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 8-6 but got no closer.

In defeat, Tynli McCarty was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Ryleigh Tiger was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, Tatum Tinsley was 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs batted in and Kami Autrey doubled with an RBI and a run scored for the Lady Vikings.

Autrey (1-4) took the loss, getting a strikeout in three innings. Sophia Abbott went the final four innings with a strikeout.

In the nightcap, the visitors jumped out to an even bigger lead than in Game 1 as SAU Tech scored four runs in the first inning, seven ruins in the second inning, six runs in the third inning and twice in the fourth inning for a 17-0 lead to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Delaynie Ross tripled and scored once, McCarty singled with an RBI, Kinlee Basquez singled and scored once and Kyleigh Ritchie singled for CASC.

Basquez (1-3) took the loss, going the first 1.2 innings. Abbott went the final 3.1 innings with two strikeouts.

After facing the Central Baptist College Lady Mustangs in a road doubleheader Tuesday in Conway, Ark., the Lady Vikings will continue the road trip with a pair of games at 1 p.m. Thursday against Arkansas State University-Three Rivers in Malvern, Ark.
