Local basketball players make All-NOAA Conference Teams

Several Sallisaw, Roland and Muldrow basketball players were named to the 2024-25 All-NOAA Conference Teams.

Several Sallisaw, Roland and Muldrow basketball players were named to the 2024-25 All-NOAA Conference Teams.

On the boys’ side, Damonte Owens was named the Most Valuable Player, while Muldrow’s Teaguen Collins shared the Offensive Player of the Year with Stilwell’s Brayton Carter. Sallisaw’s Tae Muskrat-Flynn was named the Newcomer of the Year.

Roland Runnin’ Rangers coach Eddie Lewis, who hit the 800 coaching wins plateau during the Class 3A playoffs, was named the NOAA Conference Coach of the Year as the Runnin’ Rangers went undefeated in conference play at 10-0. The Runnin’ Rangers made the Class 3A State Tournament for the second time in three seasons and the sixth time in 11 years.

Making the first-team all-conference were Muskrat-Flynn and Cooper Jackson for Sallisaw, Owens and Kade Shook for Roland and Collins and Jesse Kilinc for Muldrow.

Making the second-team all-conference were Sallisaw’s Cooper Cox and Roland’s Mason Kemp, while Sallisaw’s Brodi Nickell, Roland’s Buck Triplett and Muldrow’s Parker Sevenstar made the third-team all-conference.

Sallisaw’s Cooper Carter, Roland’s Landon Fowler, Cason Perryman and Raesean Perryman and Muldrow’s Jaxson Anstine, D.J. Massey, Jermauree Palmer, DeShawn Willson and E.J. Zanders all made honorable mention allconference.

On the girls’ side, Roland’s Ryanne Nelke was named the conference’s MVP, with Roland’s Haven Freeman, who eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career in the Class 3A District Tournament, being named the Offensive Player of the Year. Sallisaw’s Emma Martin and Roland’s Halle Freeman were named the Co-Defensive Players of the Year, while Muldrow’s Kilah Ellingberg was named the Newcomer of the Year.

Roland Lady Rangers coach Scott Nelke was named the NOAA Conference Coach of the Year, as like their male counterparts, also went 10-0 in conference play. The Lady Rangers made it to the state tournament for the second straight season.

Making the first-team all-conference were Martin, Kayli Macon and Hannah Palmer for Sallisaw, Nelke, Haven Freeman and Halle Freeman for Roland and Kilah Ellingberg, Maysi Fields and Kayla Ellingberg for Muldrow.

Muldrow’s London Hardin and Roland’s Molly Carver were named to the second-team all-conference, while Sallisaw’s Sydney Weedon and Alayna Locust-Trammell, Roland’s Lilly Cole and Muldrow’s Jensi Fields were made the third-team all-conference.

Making the honorable mention list on the all-conference team were Roland’s Julianna Trujillo and Muldrow’s Chloee Clark, Danica Tune and Emmalee Short.
