Cowgirls face South Dakota State in NCAA Tournament on Saturday

After being picked to finish 11th in the Big 12’s preseason poll, the Cowgirls currently stand at No 17 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll after tallying a thirdplace finish and winning a program-record 14 Big 12 games while posting a 25-6 mark overall. OSU’s victory total is the third best in program history.
The Cowgirls will enter NCAA Tournament play as the No. 7 seed in the Spokane 4 Region. OSU will face No. 10 South Dakota State, which sports a 29-3 record, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Gampel Pavillion in Storrs, Conn. The winner will advance to take on the winner of second-seeded UConn and No. 15 seed Arkansas State on Monday.
OSU last competed in the tourney two years ago when it faced Miami, Fla., in Bloomington, Ind.
The Cowgirls are 12-17 all time in NCAA action, including three Sweet 16 appearances with the most recent of those coming in 2014.
