Former Vian softball player’s ATU team sweeps Northeastern State
TAHLEQUAH — Former Vian Lady Wolverine softball player Kacie Gibbins and the Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns swept a doubleheader from Northeastern Oklahoma State University by scores of 8-2 and 9-5 on Tuesday afternoon.
TAHLEQUAH — Former Vian Lady Wolverine softball player Kacie Gibbins and the Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns swept a doubleheader from Northeastern Oklahoma State University by scores of 8-2 and 9-5 on Tuesday afternoon.
In the opener, Gibbins tripled, scored twice and had two stolen bases, while she singled, scored once and had two stolen bases in the nightcap.
Through 31 games, Gibbins is hitting .312 with nine doubles, a triple, a home run, 20 runs batted in, 19 runs scored and six stolen bases.
Gibbins and the Golden Suns (16-15) will return to Great American Conference action with a three-game home series against East Central University at Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville, Ark. There will be a doubleheader at 3 this afternoon, followed by a single game at noon Saturday.
