Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers enjoyed a perfect 6-0 week heading into this week’s Spring Break Week by getting a couple of doubleheader sweeps to end last week’s action.
Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers enjoyed a perfect 6-0 week heading into this week’s Spring Break Week by getting a couple of doubleheader sweeps to end last week’s action.
On March 13 in Tonkawa, the Lady Mountaineers got a road twinbill sweep of Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa by scores of 17-2 and 11-8 before sweeping last Saturday’s home DH from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M by scores of 4-1 and 5-2.
In the opener against NOCTonkawa, Wells went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while going 3-for-5 with her third home run of the season, five runs batted in and two runs scored in the nightcap. In the opener against NEO, Wells went 1-for-3, while going hitless in four at-bats in the nightcap.
Through 28 games, Wells is batting .407 with three doubles, three triples, three homers, 12 RBIs, 25 runs scored and six stolen bases.
Wells and the Lady Mountaineers (1612) will be idle until a 2 p.m. Thursday road doubleheader against NOC-Enid.
