Mama-cat gave birth to four babies this week. I haven’t seen them yet but I can tell by seeing where they nurse and I am looking forward to welcoming them soon. I have hopes that there will be a gray tabby and a black and white like their mother. Any color is a good one as far as I am concerned. I can just see them tumbling and playing on the grass.

We need pets to help us look away from ourselves. We need something to love and something to love us. Some people do not like cats and no doubt they are somewhat different from dogs, but I love both. They give me a chance to be much less selfish and a chance to see the humor of animals and caring for them is no problem whatever. Every morning, Lucycat jumps up on my bed and comes to wake me—a lot more fun than an alarm.
