Former Roland pitcher sees action in series finale against South Carolina

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Former Roland Rangers pitcher Carson Wiggins saw action in the Southeastern Conference series finale against South Carolina on Sunday at Baum-Walker Stadium.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Former Roland Rangers pitcher Carson Wiggins saw action in the Southeastern Conference series finale against South Carolina on Sunday at Baum-Walker Stadium.

In Sunday’s 11-4 win, Wiggins pitched the final inning with two strikeouts.

The third-ranked Razorbacks (232 overall, 5-1 in SEC play) won the other two games by scores of 12-2 in seven innings on Friday night and 12-3 on Saturday afternoon.

For the season, Wiggins is 1-0 with three saves, an earned-run average of 3.00 and eight strikeouts.

After Wiggins and the Hogs met Missouri State on Tuesday night at Baum-Walker Stadium, they will travel for a three-game SEC road series against Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn. Game times will be 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Then, the Wiggins and the Razorbacks will meet Grambling at 6 p.m. next Tuesday at Vincent Field at Dickey-Stephens Stadium in North Little Rock, Ark.
