Lady Bulldogs open season with home win over Lady Wolverines

The Muldrow Lady Bulldogs got their 2025 slowpitch softball season off on the right set of paws as they defeated the Vian Lady Wolverines 9-4 in Monday afternoon’s home and season opener.

Trailing 3-0 after two innings, the Lady Bulldogs (10) scored six runs in the third inning and once in the fourth inning for a 7-3 lead after four innings.

The Lady Wolverines (2-2) scored once in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 7-4, but the Lady Bulldogs scored twice in their half of the frame to seal the deal.

For the game, Riah Keenan was 3-for-3 with a run scored, Danica Tune was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and a run batted in, Jaydin Dean was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored and Reagan Newbern was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Muldrow. Dean (1-0) got the win.

In defeat, Rayleigh Terrill, Aubree Craighead and Kaidence Roark each were 2-for-3 with a run scored, while LaKoeta Cheater was 2-for-3 for Vian. Terrill (22) took the loss.

CENTRAL 3, PORUM 1

RED OAK 12, CENTRAL 0, 4 INN.

Monday at the Porum Softball Festival, the Lady Tigers (3-3) split Monday’s games.

In the win over the host Lady Panthers, the Lady Tigers rallied from a 1-0 second-inning deficit with a three-run third inning.

For the game, Brianna Taylor was 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Ayrland Jiles was 3-for-4 with a double, a run batted in and a run scored, Charlie Petree was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Keeley Poindexter was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Alyvia Warner and Allie Harris each were 2-for-3 for Central. Riley Rowland (3-3) got the win.

In the loss to Red Oak, Red Oak pitcher Maggie Wilson tossed a four-inning six-hitter with four strikeouts.

The Lady Eagles scored seven runs in the first inning, then scored three runs in the second inning and twice in the third inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Brenleigh Allen was 2-for-2 with a double for Central. Rowland took the loss.

OKAY 10, GORE 1

Monday evening in Gore, the Lady Mustangs (1-0) scored three runs in the opening inning, then added two runs in the third inning and a run in the fourth inning for a 6-0 lead. After the Lady Pirates (1-4) scored their lone run in the fourth inning, Okay put away the game with a four-run fifth inning.

In defeat, Emily Daily was 2-for-3, while Kennedy Williams and Peyton Curran each singled for Gore. Mylee Bruce (1-3) took the loss.

KEOTA 13, WEBBERS FALLS 0, 3 INN.

Monday afternoon at Eual Carter Sports Complex, Keota pitcher Addi McClary tossed a two-hitter.

The Lady Lions (4-1) scored five runs in the first inning, with a pair of four-run innings in the second and third innings putting the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Gracie Sturgell and Lextyn Chappell each singled for the only hits for the Lady Warriors (2-5). Bentley Ward (2-2) suffered the loss.

CAMERON 12, GANS 4, 5 INN.

Monday evening in Cameron, after the Lady Grizzlies (1-7) cut their deficit to 3-2 in the third inning, the Lady Yellowjackets (2-3) put away the game with a six-run third inning to take a 9-2 lead after three innings. After Gans cut the deficit to 9-4 in the fourth inning, Cameron’s three-run fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Abigail Leach was 3-for-3 with two runs batted in for Gans. Destiny Phillips (1-4) took the loss.
