Sallisaw, Muldrow have good showings at McAlester’s Clark Bass Invitional

McALESTER — The Sallisaw and Muldrow track teams each had a good showing in the seasonopening meet of the season, the Clark Bass Invitational that took place Friday at Hook-Eales Stadium.

McALESTER — The Sallisaw and Muldrow track teams each had a good showing in the seasonopening meet of the season, the Clark Bass Invitational that took place Friday at Hook-Eales Stadium.

On the girls’ side, the Lady Diamonds were third with 94 points, finishing behind meet champion Broken Bow (127 points) and runners-up Poteau (118). The Lady Bulldogs finished eighth with 34 points.

On the boys’ side, the Black Diamonds finished fifth with 69 points, while the ’Dogs were ninth (22 points).

For the Lady Diamonds, Kayli Macon was first (16-3) and Hannah Palmer was fourth (14-6) in the long jump, Sydney Weedon was runner-up (18.32 seconds) and Chloe Nelson was sixth (21.4) in the 100-meter hurdles and Cambrey Coffman was second in the 800-meter run (2:41.65).

Emma Martin was fifth (13.46 seconds) and Natalie Gonzalez was seventh (13.61) in the 100-meter dash, while Casey Brackett was seventh (1:14.59) and Michelle Laudan was eighth (1:15.25) in the 400-meter dash.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Josie Martin was fourth (55.34 seconds) and Weedon was fifth (57.73), while Jazmyne Wright was eighth in the 200-meter dash (29.2). As for Lady Diamond relay teams, two of them were runners-up.

The 1,600-meter relay team of Macon, Kylie Holt, Josie Martin and Ava Armstrong was second (4:34.92), while the 3,200-meter relay team of Holt, Coffman, Gentry Lagaveens and Emma Coury also was second (10:26.31).

The 400-meter relay team Emma Martin, Macon, Gonzalez and Armstrong was third (51.95 seconds), while the 800-meter relay team of Macon, Wright, Palmer and Armstrong also came in third (1:53.95).

As for the Black Diamonds, Sama Salinas was first (10:48.84) and Jonas Reid was seventh (12:44.97) in the 3,200-meter run, while Salinas also was first (5:03.45) and Reid seventh (5:39.33) in the 1,600-meter run.

Tyler File was third in the 110-meter hurdles (18.2 seconds) and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles (49.29), Cooper Cox was third (23.36) in the 200-meter dash, Ish Patel was fourth in the 800-meter run (2:22.9) and Cox was fifth (11.46), Jackson Jiles was sixth (11.61) and Jace Holman was seventh (11.75) in the 100-meter dash.

As for Black Diamond relay teams, Dawson Glover, Patel, Reid and Salinas were third in the 3,200-meter relay (9:27.06), while Tyler File, Austin File, Talon Flynn and Patel were seventh in the 1,600-meter relay (4:13.71).

For the Bulldogs, Teaguen Collins won two gold medals, winning the 200-meter dash (23.09 seconds) and the high jump (6-4), while finishing second in the 400-meter dash (52.19) and fifth in the long jump (190.5).

For the Lady Bulldogs, Genna Stephenson won the 3,200-meter run (14:12.22) and was runner-up in the 1,600-meter run (6:42.96).

London Hardin was fourth in the 400-meter dash (1:11.27), Emma Fields was fourth in the 3,200-meter run (14:54.04) and eighth in the 1,600-meter run (6:42.96), Tiphany Martinez was fifth (3:02.06) and Gracie Prewett was eighth (3:09.75) in the 800-meter run.
