WF, Vian go 2-1, Gore 1-2 in Webbers Falls Softball Festival

The host Webbers Falls Lady Warriors and the Vian Lady Wolverines each went 2-1, while the Gore Lady Pirates went 1-2 in Thursday’s Webbers Falls Softball Festival, which took place at Eual Carter Sports Complex.

The Lady Warriors defeated Gore 1-0 and Heavener 5-1 but lost 3-2 to Vian.

The Lady Wolverines defeated Heavener 5-1 after defeating Webbers Falls, but they lost 7-5 to Gore.

The Lady Pirates lost not only to Webbers Falls but also fell 8-0 to Heavener.

WEBBERS FALLS 1, GORE 0

Webbers Falls player Kendra Kimble hit a two-out, RBI single to score Lextyn Chappell with the game’s only run in the fifth inning.

For the game, Bentley Ward was 3-for-3, Kimble was 2-for-3 with the game-winning RBI and Bridgette Baer was 2-for-3 for the Lady Warriors (4-6). Lextyn Chappell (2-1) got her first win of the season.

In defeat, Ricki Huckbay and Hallie Brewer were each 2-for-3 for the Lady Pirates (3-7).

Mylee Bruce (3-7) took the loss, despite recording two strikeouts in seven innings.

GORE 7, VIAN 5

The Lady Pirates scored twice in the first inning and five runs in the third inning for a 7-0 lead. The Lady Wolverines (4-4) scored five runs in the fourth inning but got no closer.

For the game, Ricki Huckbay was 3-for-4 with a double, Hallie Brewer was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored and Mylee Bruce was 2-for-4 for Gore.

Bruce got the win, getting four strikeouts.

In defeat, Eden Girty was 3-for-4 with a run scored, Kala Gibbins was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a run batted in, Aubree Craighead was 2-for-4, LaKoeta Cheater was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Tressa Sandlin doubled with an RBI for Vian. Rayleigh Terrill (4-4) took the loss.

VIAN 3, WEBBERS FALLS 2

Kaidence Roark’s grounder scored Tressa Sandlin from third base with the game-winning run in the seventh inning for the Lady Wolverines.

For the game, Kala Gibbins was 2-for-4 with a run batted in and a run scored, Halli Russell was 2-for-4, Sandlin was 2-for-3 and scored the game-winning run and Kaidence Roark was 2-for-2 with the game-winning RBI and a run scored for Vian. Rayleigh Terrill got the win.

In defeat, Gracie Sturgell was 2-for-3, while Bailey Ward was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Webbers Falls. Lextyn Chappell took the lost.

WEBBERS FALLS 5, HEAVENER 1

The Lady Warriors scored once in the opening inning and three runs in the second inning for a 4-0 lead.

For the game, Bailey Ward was 3-for-4 with a run batted in and a run scored, Rhilee Jones was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Kendra Kimble was 3-for-3 with a run scored, Karla Bonilla was 3-for-3, Gracie Sturgell was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Bridgette Baer was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Webbers Falls.

Chappell got the win, getting two strikeouts.

VIAN 5, HEAVENER 1

The Lady Wolverines scored once in the second inning, three runs in the fourth inning and once in the fifth inning for a 5-0 lead. The Lady Wolves scored once in the seventh inning but their rally came up short.

For the game, Terrill was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Aubree Craighead was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI and Eden Gilbert was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Vian. Terrill got the win.

HEAVENER 8, GORE 0

The Lady Pirates were three-hit by Heavener pitcher Britlee Reed.

The Lady Wolves scored four runs in each of the first two innings to put the game into run-rule status.

Emily Daily, Hallie Brewer and Mylee Bruce all singled for Gore. Bruce suffered loss.
