NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Former Roland Rangers pitcher Carson Wiggins saw action in last weekend’s road Southeastern Conference series against the host Vanderbilt Commodores.
Wiggins pitched an inning in last Saturday’s game, getting a strikeout. The Hogs (26-3 overall, 7-1 in SEC play) won the game 6-4 in 10 innings.
For the season, Wiggins is 1-0 with a 3.38 earned-run average and three saves. In eight innings pitched, he has struck out 11 batters.
The Razorbacks swept the Commodores for the first time in Nashville since 1994 as the Hogs took last Friday night’s game 9-0 and Sunday’s finale 7-3. The Razorbacks, who defeated Grambling 7-4 Tuesday night at CHI St. Vincent Field at Dickey-Stephens Park in Little Rock, Ark., will return to SEC play with a home series this weekend against Missouri at Baum-Walker Stadium. Games will be played at 7 tonight, 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday before the Hogs will entertain Arkansas State at 6 p.m. next Tuesday.
