Central gets road win over Webbers Falls

The Central Tigers snapped a twogame losing streak with a 12-2 road win over the host Webbers Falls Warriors on Monday afternoon at Eual Carter Sports Complex.

The Central Tigers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 12-2 road win over the host Webbers Falls Warriors on Monday afternoon at Eual Carter Sports Complex.

The Tigers (6-11) rallied from a 2-1 second-inning deficit with a three-run third inning to take the lead for good at 4-2. An eight-run fifth inning put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Aidan Sainer was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a run batted in, Hardy Buzzard was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI, Xhaiden Mosby was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Kage Poindexter doubled with three RBIs and Ryker Miller hit his first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the third inning to provide what proved to be the game-winning hit.

Miller (2-2) got the win in relief, going two innings with four strikeouts. Buzzard started and went the first two innings with three Ks. Kiefer Bailey pitched the final inning. The trio combined on a six-hitter.

In defeat, Elliott Kunkel was 2-for-2 with a run scored for the Warriors (6-91).

Brutus Robinson (0-2) took the loss, going the first three innings with six strikeouts. Ryan Cowan went the next 1.1 innings with a strikeout. Luke Pierce got the final two outs, one of which came by strikeout.

VIAN 11, WARNER 3, 5 INN.

Monday afternoon in Vian, the Wolverines (15-4) rallied from a 3-0 second-inning deficit with a four-run second inning and a five-run fourth inning for a 9-3 lead. A two-run fifth inning put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Kaden Fulbright was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, three runs batted in and two runs scored, Manny Terrill was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Jeremiah Marshall was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored, Cash Collins doubled with two RBIs and a run scored and Draighton Fletcher doubled with two runs scored and an RBI for Vian.

Michael Polecat (4-2) got the win in relief, going the final four innings with six strikeouts. Terrill got the start and pitched the first inning with a strikeout.

DEWAR 14, GORE 0, 5 INN.

Monday afternoon in Dewar, the Pirates (9-6) fell behind 2-0 after an inning, and the Dragons (23-0) added a pair of three-run innings in the second and third inning to make it 8-0. A six-run fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Keiden Denton, Keeton Rowe and Tate Brooksher each singled for Gore’s three hits.

Brooksher (3-2) suffered the loss, going the first three innings with four strikeouts. McKennon McElhaney went the final inning with a strikeout. Of Dewar’s 14 runs, six were unearned due to seven Gore errors.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The Roland Rangers played District 3A-8 foe Tulsa Holland Hall in a road doubleheader on Tuesday instead of entertaining the Dutch at home on Monday.
