ALVA — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison got a Great American Conference sweep over the host Northwestern Oklahoma State University Lady Rangers in a series that overlapped into Monday due to rain.
The Bison routed the Lady Rangers 14-5 in six innings on Sunday before taking both games on Monday by scores of 4-3 and 5-4.
Wells went 2-for-3 in Sunday’s game with her 11th double, four runs scored and a run batted in.
In Monday’s opener, Wells was hitless in four atbats, while going 2-for-3 with her 12th double, her 11th home run and two runs scored.
Through 39 games, Wells is hitting .356 with 12 doubles, a triple, 11 homers, 39 RBIs, 27 runs scored and six stolen bases.
Wells and the Bison (25-14 overall, 18-5 in GAC play) will return to action this weekend with a road series against Harding University in Searcy, Ark. There will be a 4 p.m. Friday doubleheader and a single game at noon Saturday before entertaining Northeastern State University for a 4 p.m. twinbill next Tuesday in Shawnee.
