Muldrow gets home win over Gore

The Muldrow Lady Bulldogs picked up a 9-1, five-inning home victory over the Gore Lady Pirates on Monday night.

The Lady Bulldogs (4-5) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning, which became a 4-0 advantage after two innings. After the Lady Pirates (5-8) cut their deficit to 4-1 in the fourth inning, the Lady Bulldogs put the game into run-rule status with a five-run fourth inning.

For the game, Amaya Duran was 3-for-3 with two doubles, her first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the opening inning, five runs batted in and two runs scored, Riah Keenan doubled with an RBI and a run scored, Reagan Newbern doubled and Danica Tune tripled with an RBI and a run scored for Muldrow Jaydin Dean (5-8) got the win as tossed a three-hitter and recorded four strikeouts.

In defeat, Ricki Huckbay doubled and River Shoemake and Mylee Bruce each singled for Gore’s three hits.

Bruce (5-8) took the loss, despite getting four strikeouts.

CENTRAL 9, VIAN 5

Monday afternoon at Armstrong Park in Vian, the Lady Tigers (5-5) scored once in the first inning and seven runs in the second inning for an 8-0 lead. The Lady Wolverines (4-9) cut the deficit to 8-4 after three innings, but got no closer.

For the game, Charlie Petree was 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs batted in and a run scored, Brianna Taylor was 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Ayrland Jiles was 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored, Keeley Poindexter was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Alyvia Warner was 2-for-3, Riley Rowland was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Allie Harris was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Central. Rowland (5-5) got the win.

In defeat, Brooklyn Cox was 3-for-4 with a run scored, Kala Gibbins was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-4 with her third home run of the season — a two-run shot in the third inning — and Tressa Sandlin doubled for Vian.

Terrill (4-9) took the loss, despite getting two strikeouts in seven innings.

MCCURTAIN 9, WEBBERS FALLS 3

Tuesday evening in McCurtain, the Lady Bulldogs (5-11) scored twice in the first inning and four runs in the second inning for a 6-0 lead. The Lady Warriors (4-10) scored once in the third inning to cut the deficit to 6-1 after three innings but got no closer.

In defeat, Bridgette Baer was 2-for-4 with a two-run, inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning, which was her first homer of the spring, Bailey Ward was 2-for-3 and Peyton Hobbs was 2-for-3 with a run batted in and a run scored for Webbers Falls. Lextyn Chappell (2-5) suffered the loss.

EUFAULA 10, VIAN 3

Thursday afternoon in Eufaula, the Lady Ironheads rallied from a 2-0 first-inning deficit with a pair of three-run innings in the first and second innings for a 6-2 lead. A pair of single runs in the fourth and fifth innings upped the advantage to 8-2.

In defeat, Aubree Craighead was 2-for-3, Eden Girty was 2-for-3, Kala Gibbins hit her first homer of the season, a two-run shot in the first inning, and Rayleigh Terrill hit her second homer of the season, a solo shooting the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 8-3. Terrill suffered the loss.
