Former Vian player, ATU Golden Suns upset No. 10 Harding

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Former Vian Lady Wolverine Kacie Gibbins and the Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns upset the 10th-ranked Harding University Bison 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex.

The Golden Suns (2320 overall, 13-11 in Great American Conference play) broke a scoreless tie with a two-run sixth inning.

For the game, Gibbins was hitless in three at-bats. For the season, Gibbins is hitting .331 with 13 doubles, a triple a home run, 22 runs batted in, 22 runs scored and eight stolen bases. Gibbins and the Golden Suns will return to action this weekend with a home series against Southern Nazarene University. The series opener will be at 5 this evening, followed by a noon Saturday doubleheader. Then, the Golden Suns will entertain Delta State for a 2 p.m. twinbill at 2 p.m. Monday.
