Sallisaw girls 5th, boys 10th at Jay Bulldog Invitational

JAY — The Sallisaw Lady Diamonds track team finished fifth and the Black Diamonds 10th at Tuesday’s Jay Bulldog Invitational.

The Lady Diamonds finished in fifth place with 60 points, while the Black Diamonds scored 28 points.

Three Sallisaw individuals came in second in their respective event.

Sama Salinas was runner-up in the boys’ 3,200-meter run (10:39.48), Cooper Cox was second in the boys’ 400-meter dash (51.66 seconds) and Kayli Macon was runner-up in the girls’ long jump (15-9).

As for other Lady Diamonds individually, Kambrey Coffman was third (2:35.04) and Emma Coury was 39th (3:18.83) in the 800-meter run, while Hannah Palmer was fourth (15-2) and Natalie Gonzalez was sixth (14-1) in the long jump.

In the 300-meter hurdles, Josie Martin was fourth (52.41 seconds) and Sydney Weedon was seventh (53.76), while Weedon was sixth (18.47 seconds) and Chloe Nelson was 14th (20.66) in the 100-meter hurdles. Delaney Compton was seventh (90-2), Aubrey Webb was 11th (80-3) and Macie Gremillion was 13th (78-3) in the discus, while Emma Martin was eighth (14 seconds flat), Gonzalez was 11th (14.12) and Ava Armstrong was 15th (14.3) in the 100-meter dash. Gentri Lageveen was 10th in the high jump (4-6), Jazmyne Wright was 13th (28.8 seconds), Palmer was 23rd (29.35) and Kylie Holt was 27th (30.22) in the 200-meter dash and Gremillion was 13th (30-2), Webb was 14th (29-11.25) and Channing Wilson was 17th (20-0.25) in the shot put.

Michelle Laudan was 17th (1:11.46), Molli Blount was 18th (1:11.81) and Casey Brackett 24th (1:13.05) in the 400-meter dash.

All three Lady Diamonds’ relay teams placed third. The 400-meter relay team of Emma Martin, Macon, Armstrong and Gonzalez was third (53.15 seconds), Macon, Wright, Palmer and Armstrong were third in the 800-meter relay (1:52.47) and Macon, Holt, Josie Martin and Coffman were third in the 1,600-meter relay (4:25.83).

As for other Black Diamonds individually, Cannon Martindale was fourth (132-7) in the discus, Tae Muskrat-Flynn was seventh (17-9) and Bo Brackett was ninth (17-1) in the long jump and Jonas Reid was seventh in the 3,200-meter run (11:49.13).

Tyler File was ninth (18.66 seconds) and Talon Flynn was 23rd (22.77) in the 110-meter hurdles, Cooper Jackson was 10th (11.84), Kenyan Hill was 16th (12.07) and Brackett was 27th (12.53) in the 100-meter dash, Caden Blount was 11th (39-7) and Jackson Harris was 19th (36-6) in the shot put and File was 12th (47.56) in the 300-meter hurdles.

Reid was 16th (5:33.12) and Alex Gregory was 29th (6:03.19) in the 1,600-meter run, while Muskrat-Flynn was 19th (2:20.02), Ish Patel was 20th (2:20.24) and Ethan Wilhite was 52nd (2:53.44) in the 800-meter run.

Julius Lemon was 29th (58.85 seconds) and Wilhite was 49th (1:03.91) in the 400-meter dash, while Brackett was 33rd (25.97 seconds) and Flynn was 42nd (27.07) in the 200-meter dash.

As for Black Diamonds relay teams, Hill, Cox, Lemon and Jackson were fifth in the 400-meter relay (45.5 seconds) and fifth in the 800-meter relay (1:35.37), while Patel, Dawson Glover, Reid and Salinas were seventh in the 3,200-meter relay (9:20.03).

The Sallisaw track teams will return to action in the Hilldale Invitational, which will begin at 10 this morning at Hilldale High School in Muskogee.
