The Connors State College Cowboys men’s basketball team went from being an unranked team to make the field for the 2025 NJCAA Division I National Tournament to being the national runners-up.
The Cowboys, who finished 32-4, lost in the national title game 69-61 to Trinity Valley Community College on March 29 in Hutchinson, Kan.
The Cowboys won their national semifinal game 80-74 over South Plains College the night before.
Connors State College reached the final four with a 66-65 national quarterfinal victory over Daytona State College on March 26 in Hutchinson, two days after a second-round 63-62 win over Snow College.
On March 22 in Hutchinson, the Cowboys won their NJCAA Division I Tournament opener 80-75 over John A. Logan College.
In the NJCAA Region II Tournament, which took place in Muskogee, the Cowboys defeated Northern Oklahoma College-Enid 70-55 on March 12, Western Oklahoma State College 8048 on March 14 and Northeastern A&M College 75-59 in the finals on March 15.
