BREAKING NEWS

Whataburger opens Wednesday

Sallisaw’s first Whataburger opens at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at 502 S. Kerr Boulevard.

While the long-anticipated opening is big news, even bigger news is that for Wednesday’s opening, the first customers in each drive-thru lane and in line for the dining room will receive a Whataburger gift basket.

“Sallisaw is a great community with a rich history, and we are eager to see people gather for good times while enjoying the bold, fresh flavors of Whataburger,” operating partner Aaron Bradley said in announcing the opening. “We’re eager to welcome and serve them at our newest location at 502 S. Kerr Blvd.”

The restaurant will open with a full-service dining room and 24-hour drive-thru. In the next few weeks, online ordering via the Whataburger app and Whataburger.com as well as delivery will begin.

WAB has hired 95 local employees who are called family members.

WAB Venture Inc. owns the Sallisaw restaurant, which is the 16th location for WAB, which owns restaurants in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Whataburger is open 24/7, 364 days a year (closed Christmas Day). Breakfast is served from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.

About Whataburger

Whataburger’s original recipes are made to order, and the company prides itself on extraordinary hospitality and meaningful connections in the communities it serves. Headquartered in San Antonio, the restaurant chain that began in 1950 has stayed close to its roots while building systemwide revenue of more than $4 billion annually across its 16-state footprint with more than 1,100 restaurants. Even with its exceptional menu, it’s people that make the difference at Whataburger. That’s why the company is among QSR Magazine’s Best Brands to Work For in 2023, and consistently wins culture excellence awards, including Top Workplaces 2023. Applications for employment are available at whataburger.com/careers. In addition to food, Whataburger also offers branded merchandise and selected sauces, including its famous fancy and spicy ketchup, at whatastore.com.
