SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Tulsa Golden Hurricane softball team was shutout 6-0 by the Missouri State Bears on Tuesday evening in Meador Park.

Tulsa falls to 19-27 on the season, while Missouri State improves to 15-30. The Hurricane dropped both meetings against the Bears this season — and both by the same score.

Maura Moore (13-14) spun 3.1 innings in the Tuesday loss, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out three. Alexa Hopkins pitched the final 2.2 innings. She allowed a run and gave up a hit, striking out a trio of batters.

Maci Cole singled in the third to extend her hitting streak to 18 games. Former Poteau Lady Pirate Annika Dill had a pair of hits and Paige Knight collected Tulsa’s other hit on the evening.

The Golden Hurricane will head “The Lone Star State” for the final time in the regular season as Tulsa will take on Texas-San Antonio in a threegame American Athletic Conference series starting this afternoon. First pitch for the opener is set for 4 p.m.
