Sequoyah County OHCE (Oklahoma Home and Community Education) is sponsoring their 2nd annual free “Learn to Quilt” clinic on May 8.
Last year’s clinic covered the basics: tools, tips and tricks, using rotary cutters, sewing ¼ inch seams, techniques for pressing seams, and demonstrations of easy half square triangle and flying geese blocks, and how to bind a quilt.
This year the class will help you build your skills by selecting a quilt block design, selecting fabric, cutting pieces, sewing the block and pressing seams. Participants will leave with a completed quilt block and the knowledge needed to make more.
OHCE will provide all the necessary supplies and equipment, along with a “goody-bag” of tools to take home.
Registration is limited, so secure your spot today by calling Bev Covington at 918-774-2215 or Gina Erdmann at 916-213-5667.
