Former Lady Wolverine’s OBU team takes rain-shortened series from SAU
SHAWNEE — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison swept a shortened Great American Conference home series from Southern Arkansas University, taking both of Friday’s games by scores of 4-3 and 6-5 in 11 innings before having Saturday’s Game 3 canceled.
SHAWNEE — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison swept a shortened Great American Conference home series from Southern Arkansas University, taking both of Friday’s games by scores of 4-3 and 6-5 in 11 innings before having Saturday’s Game 3 canceled.
In Friday’s Game 1 win over SAU, Wells was hitless in two at-bats with a run scored, while going hitless in two atbats with a run scored. Through 50 games, Wells is batting .360 with 15 doubles, a triple, 16 homers, 52 runs batted in, 36 runs scored and seven stolen bases. Wells and the Bison (34-16 overall, 25-7 in GAC play) will remain idle until playing in the Great American Conference Tournament, which will begin Thursday in Bentonville, Ark., when they will meet the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m.
