Former Vian player’s Eastern team sweeps NOC-Enid, splits with Rose State
WILBURTON — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers swept a home doubleheader from the Northern Oklahoma College-Enid Lady Jets on Thursday afternoon at home by scores of 8-0 in five innings and 10-2 in five innings.
WILBURTON — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Maisie Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers swept a home doubleheader from the Northern Oklahoma College-Enid Lady Jets on Thursday afternoon at home by scores of 8-0 in five innings and 10-2 in five innings.
Then on Monday, the Lady Mountaineers split their home games with Rose State, winning the opener 9-7 but losing 3-2 in the nightcap.
In the opener against NOC-Enid, Wells was 2-for-3, while going 4-for-4 with her seventh double and two runs scored in the nightcap.
In the opener against Rose State, Wells was 3-for-4 with her eighth double, two runs batted in and a run scored, while going 2-for-4 in the nightcap.
Through 48 games this season, Wells is batting .458 with eight doubles, three triples, six home runs, 20 runs batted in, 46 runs scored and 11 stolen bases.
Wells and the Lady Mountaineers (3117) will wrap up the regular season with a home doubleheader against Seminole State College at 1 p.m. Thursday.
