Fishing Report for April 30, 2025

EUFAULA: April 26. Elevation is four feet above normal and stable. The water temperature is 60 degrees and murky. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, jerk baits and plastic baits around brush structure, points and riprap. Blue, channel and flathead catfish excellent on cut bait, jigs, live bait and live shad below the dam, channels, discharge, river channel and standing timber. Crappie fair on hair jigs and minnows around brush structure, docks and standing timber. Report submitted by Jake Rowland, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

GRAND: April 27. Elevation is three feet above normal and falling. The water temperature is 66 degrees and stained. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, plastic baits and spinnerbaits around brush structure, docks and shorelines. Blue catfish good on cut bait and shad below the dam, docks, river channel, shorelines and spillway. Crappie good on jigs and minnows below the dam, brush structure, docks and shorelines. COMMENTS: Recent rains have left large amounts of debris in the lake. Report submitted by Riley Willman, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

GREENLEAF: April 28. Elevation is five feet above normal and stable. The water temperature 62 degrees and murky. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, lipless baits, minnows, plastic baits and worms around brush structure, docks and shorelines. Flathead catfish fair on goldfish, live bait and shad around creek channels, flats, main lake and shorelines. Crappie good on jigs, minnows, PowerBait and slabs around brush structure, docks and shorelines. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

LOWER ILLINOIS RIVER: April 25. Elevation is nine feet above normal and rising. The water temperature is 57 degrees and clear. Rainbow trout slow on in-line spinnerbaits, PowerBait, small lures and worms around shallows and shorelines. COMMENTS: Fishing is slow due to flooding discharged from dam. Currently, water flow is 12,000 cubic feet per second (CFS). Report submitted by Jerry Henry, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

ROBERT S. KERR: April 25. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 65 degrees and murky. Largemouth and spotted bass good on bill baits, buzz baits, jigs, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits and topwater lures around brush structure, coves, points, riprap, shallows, shorelines, standing timber and weed beds. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on cut bait, dough bait, live bait, live shad, punch bait, shad, stinkbait and sunfish around channels, creek channels, flats, inlet, main lake, river mouth and tailwater. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs and minnows below the dam, brush structure, channels, creek channels, shorelines, standing timber and tailwater. TENKILLER: April 27. Elevation is three feet above normal and falling. The water temperature is 60 degrees and murky. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, shad and stinkbait around channels, creek channels and river channel. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass good on crankbaits, jigs, plastic baits, spinnerbaits and sunfish around brush structure, channels, points and shorelines. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs and minnows around brush structure, docks and main lake. Report submitted by Cody Youngblood, game warden stationed in Cherokee County.

WEBBERS FALLS: April 28. Elevation is five feet above normal and stable. The water temperature is 62 degrees and stained. Blue and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, minnows, shad and worms around creek channels, flats and river channel. Crappie fair on jigs, minnows and small lures around brush structure, coves, creek channels and shorelines. Striped and white bass fair on jigs, lipless baits, sassy shad and small lures around creek channels, inlet, main lake, shorelines and spillway.
