STILLWATER — Three consecutive two-run innings lifted the No. 23rd-ranked Oklahoma State softball team to a 6-1 victory over North Texas on Wednesday night at Cowgirl Stadium.

The Cowgirls improved to 30-17 overall with the win, while North Texas dropped to 34-17.

OSU opened the scoring in the fourth inning when Tia Warsop recorded an RBI single with the bases loaded. Warsop now has 11 runs bated in this season. The second run came as Claire Timm crossed home plate off Megan Bloodworth’s groundout.

The Mean Green responded in the top of the fifth with an Elizabeth Moffitt RBI single, but Amanda Hasler led off the bottom half of the inning with her team-best 14th home run of the season, an opposite field blast to right. Timm singled home Karli Godwin two batters later to extend OSU’s advantage to 4-1 after five innings.

Godwin struck again in the sixth inning with an RBI double, then Timm followed with a sacrifice fly to cap the scoring.

Crandall picked up the win for the Cowgirls and improved to 4-4, pitching for 4.1 innings with two strikeouts and two hits allowed. Ruby Meylan was credited with her third save of the season after fanning seven in 2.2 innings of relief work.

The Mean Green’s Anneca Anderson dropped to 13-5.

Offensive standouts for OSU included Godwin (2-for-3 with an RBI), Timm (2-for-3 with two RBIs) and Hasler (1-for-3 with a homer).

Godwin recorded her 12th multi-hit game this season, tying Warsop and Megan Delgadillo for the team lead.

The Cowgirls will return to action at 6 tonight to kick off a Big 12 home series against Utah at Cowgirl Stadium.
