The Central Tigers made it 2-for-2 this week on the baseball diamond as they picked up a 16-2, five-inning road victory over the host Roland Rangers on Tuesday afternoon on the newly-laid infield turf at the Roland High School baseball field.

The Tigers (11-15) put away the game early, scoring three runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning for a 9-0 lead.

After the Rangers (3-20) cut their deficit to 9-2 after three innings, the Tigers put the game into run-rule status with a two-run fourth inning and a five-run fifth inning.

For the contest, Waylen Campbell was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs batted in and two runs scored, Aidan Sainer was 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored, Ryker Miller was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs and Paitton Merrill was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for Central.

Kiefer Bailey (6-3) got the complete-game, five-inning victory, striking out seven batters and scattering five hits.

In defeat, Alex Brant, Avery Moya, Channing McKinney, Colton Peters and Raesean Perryman each singled for Roland.

Brett Mouldin (0-6) suffered the loss, going the first 1.1 innings. Derrick Allen went the next 2.2 innings, then Erik Garcia got the final three outs of the game, one of which came on a strikeout.

MULDROW’S DISTRICT MOVED TO TODAY Due to the combination of wet fields and the Muldrow Bulldogs golf team being in Thursday’s Class 4A Regional Tournament, Muldrow’s Class 4A Regional Tournament will not begin until today.

The Bulldogs will meet regional-host North Rock Creek at 11 this morning, with Miami and Tulsa Victory Christian playing at 1:30 this afternoon. The two winners will play at 4 this afternoon, while the losers will play an elimination game at 6:30 tonight. The 4 p.m. Thursday loser will play the 6:30 p.m. Thursday winner in the loser’s-bracket final on Saturday, with the winner meeting the 4 p.m. Thursday winner for the regional title right after that. The if-game will be played Monday.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Muldrow’s road game at Warner and Vian’s road game at Coweta on Tuesday were both rained out and will not be rescheduled.
