JAY — Four individuals and two girls’ relay teams will represent the Sallisaw High School track team at this weekend’s Class 4A State Meet, which will take place Friday and Saturday at Plainview Stadium at Plainview High School, located on the west side of Ardmore.

At Saturday’s Class 4A Regional Meet, Kayli Macon and Hannah Palmer automatically qualified for state.

Macon was second (15-11) and Palmer was third (15-10) in the long jump, while Macon was third in the 200-meter dash (26.24 seconds).

One of the Lady Diamonds’ relay teams also automatically qualified for state at Ava Armstrong, Macon, Palmer and Jazmyne Wright were third in the 800-meter relay (1:50.17).

Two individuals and the Lady Diamonds’ 400-meter relay team got the good news Monday that they had grabbed at-large bids to state.

Sama Salinas was fifth in the 3,200-meter run (10:30.18) for the Black Diamonds, while Kambrey Coffman was fifth in the 800-meter run (2:28.82) to each earn one of the at-large state bids in those events, respectively. The Lady Diamonds’ 400-meter relay team of Natalie Gonzalez, Macon, Emma Martin and Armstrong grabbed an at-large berth to state, thanks to their fourthplace finish in a time of 52.31 seconds.

There were several individuals and girls’ relay teams that were in line to get at-large bids to state but just missed the cut.

For the Lady Diamonds individually, Sydney Weedon was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.67 seconds), Josie Martin was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles (51.93) and Delaney Compton was sixth in the discus (94-11).

The Lady Diamonds’ other relay team also had a shot at at-large state bids by finishing anywhere from fourth to seventh place, which was the criteria for individuals and relay teams to be in line for atlarge bids.

However, the fifth-place finish for the 1,600-meter relay team of Coffman, Kylie Holt, Josie Martin and Wright in a time of 4:22.16 just missed the cut to make it to state.

For the Black Diamonds, Cooper Cox was fifth in the 400-meter dash (52.74 seconds), Salinas was fifth in the 1,600-meter run (4:47.27), Tyler File was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (18.27) and Caden Blount was sixth in the shot put (42-5).

The Black Diamonds’ 800-meter relay team of Cooper Jackson, Cox, Kenyan Hill and Julius Lemon was fifth (1:34.02) but just missed out qualifying for state.

As for other Lady Diamonds’ results, Weedon was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles (52.48 seconds), Gonzalez was 10th (13.5 seconds) and Emma Martin was 12th (13.78) in the 100-meter dash and Armstrong was 10th (28.64) and Holt was 17th (29.15) in the 200-meter dash.

Chloe Nelson was 10th in the 100-meter hurdles (18.79 seconds), Emma Martin was 11th in the long jump (14-7) and Michelle Laudan was 17th (1:09.85) and Casey Brackett was 19th (1:14.12) in the 400-meter dash.

In the shot put, Macie Gremillion was eighth (31-2), Channing Wilson was 12th (294) and Aubrey Webb was 14th (28-3), while Webb was ninth (88-6) and Gremillion was 12th (79-9) in the discus.

For the Black Diamonds, Hill was seventh (11.4 seconds) and Bo Brackett was 24th (12.17) in the 100-meter dash, while Cox was eighth (22.9), Sean Laudan was 23rd (24.65) and Lemon was 31st (27.51) in the 200-meter dash.

Ish Patel was 11th in the 800-meter run (2:17.76), Jonas Reid was 11th (12:00.45) and Dawson Glover was 16th (13:14.67) in the 3,200-meter run and Reid was 14th (5:21.9) and Alex Gregory was 18th (5:51.29) in the 1,600-meter run.

Tyler File was 13th in the 300-meter hurdles (46.91 seconds), Austin File was 13th in the discus (107-4), Lemon was 19th (57.44 seconds) and Ethan Willhite was 26th (1:00.22) in the 400-meter dash and Bo Brackett was 21st in the long jump (16-6).
