Former Vian player, OBU Bison fall in GAC Tournament finals
BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison lost the 2025 Great American Conference Tournament finals 4-1 to Southern Arkansas University last Saturday.
BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Greenlee Wells and the Oklahoma Baptist University Bison lost the 2025 Great American Conference Tournament finals 4-1 to Southern Arkansas University last Saturday.
The Bison won their first two games of the tournament, beating Southwestern Oklahoma State University 3-2 on May 1 and defeating Southern Nazarene University 6-4 last Friday.
The Bison (36-17) were hoping to get an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II National Tournament from the GAC, but that bid went to Harding University. Thus, the season ended for the Bison.
In the loss to SAU, Wells, who was named a member of the GAC First Team all-conference softball team, went 1-for-3 with a double.
In the win over SNU, Wells was hitless in one atbat with a run scored, while she went 2-for 2 with a double in the tournament- opening victory over SWOSU.
For the season, Wells batted .365 with 17 doubles, a triple, 15 home runs, 52 runs batted in, 38 runs scored and seven stolen bases.
