Local baseball players to be part of 2025 Heartland Classic
Three Sallisaw Black Diamonds — Luke Pack, Kase Adams and Kadyn Lloyd — along with Vian Wolverines baseball player Draighton Fletcher and four Gore Pirates baseball players — James Brasuell, Keeton Rowe, Kason Short and Gage Dame — will get two more days of high school baseball before school begins in August.
The eight local baseball players will be a part of the 2025 Heartland Classic, which will take place Tuesday and Wednesday at Connors State College in Warner.
Pack and Adams will be on the Royal Blue Team, while Lloyd will be on the Black Team.
Fletcher will be on the Red Team, Brasuell, Rowe and Short will be on the Green Team and Dame will be on the Navy Team.
The Black Diamonds went 25-7 and made it to the Class 4A State Tournament, where they lost 6-5 to Newcastle.
At the Sallisaw Baseball Awards Banquet, Pack won the Offensive Player of the Year Award and was the Point Chart Champion, while Adams was named the Infielder of the Year. Both players were infielders on the All-District 4A-8 Baseball Team.
Fletcher’s Wolverines went 31-8 last spring, falling in the Class 2A-I Regional Tournament finals to Oktaha.
The Pirates went 17-10 and got to the Class A-I Regional Tournament before losses to Summit Christian and Hominy ended their season.
