Roland defeats Spiro in season opener

SPIRO — The Roland Lady Rangers opened their 2025 fast-pitch softball season with a 13-2 road District 3A-6 romp of the host Spiro Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday evening.

The Lady Rangers (1-0 overall, 1-0 in district play) scored three runs in each of the first two innings for a 6-0 lead. After the Lady Bulldogs (0-2, 0-1) cut their deficit to 6-1 after three innings, the Lady Rangers put away the game with a pair of two-run innings in the fifth and sixth innings for a 10-1 lead. A three-run seventh inning iced the contest.

For the game, Lillian Cole was 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs batted in and a run scored, Paisley Davis was 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored, Kyleigh Knapp was 3-for-5 with four RBIs and a run scored, Adriana Moya was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for Roland.

McKinna Cooper (1-0) got the win, getting seven strikeouts and throwing a three-hitter.

KEOTA 11, CENTRAL 1, 5 INN.

Tuesday evening in Keota, the Lady Lions broke a 1-all tie with two runs in the second inning, a single run in the third inning and a seven-run fourth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Sadie Huff singled with a run batted in for the lone run for the Lady Tigers (0-2), while Charlie Petree singled for the only hits in the game for Central.

Brenleigh Allen (0-2) suffered the loss, despite fanning four batters in four innings.

PANAMA 3, VIAN 1

Tuesday afternoon in Panama, the Lady Razorbacks (2-0 overall, 1-0 in District 2A10 play) broke a 1-all tie with a two-run fourth inning.

The Lady Wolverines (1-1, 0-1) took a 1-0 lead on Halli Russell’s RBI triple in the opening inning before the Lady ’Backs tied the game at 1-all in their half of the frame.

In defeat, Russell hit an RBI triple, while Eden Girty singled for the only hits for Vian.

Cassidee Postoak (1-1) suffered the loss.

CAMERON/ARKOMA 21, WEBBERS FALLS 11

Tuesday afternoon at Eula Carter Sports Complex, the Lady Yellowjackets (2-0) put away the game with a 10-run fourth inning to spoil the debut of new Webbers Falls coach Mike Mills.

In defeat, Katie Frazier was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs batted in, while Rhilee Jones doubled with three RBIs and a run scored for the Lady Warriors (0-1). Jones (0-1) suffered the loss, despite getting two strikeouts.
