Local teams pick up at least one win in Muldrow Festival

The two-day Muldrow Softball Festival took place Friday and Saturday, and the five local teams that participated all picked up at least one win during the two days of competition.

The Vian Lady Wolverines had the best success, going 3-1. On Friday, the Lady Wolverines defeated Salina 8-3 and blanked Roland 4-0 before splitting Saturday’s games — beating Sallisaw 3-1 but losing 12-0 to Stigler.

Both the host Muldrow Lady Bulldogs and the Roland Lady Rangers went 2-1.

Muldrow beat Salina 10-3 and Central 1-0 on Saturday after falling 8-7 to the archrival Lady Rangers 8-7 on Friday night.

Besides beating Muldrow and losing to Vian on Friday, the Lady Rangers beat Stilwell 4-2 on Saturday. The Sallisaw Lady Diamonds and the Central Lady Tigers each got their first wins of the season during the two-day event.

The Lady Diamonds routed Stilwell 14-4 on Friday for their first victory in 2025 before losing to Vian on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers beat Stigler 7-4 on Saturday after losing to Muldrow. On Friday, the Lady Tigers lost 18-1 to Eufaula and 6-4 to Panama.

SALLISAW 14, STILWELL 4

The Lady Diamonds (1-4) broke open the game early with an eight-run first inning.

For the contest, Natalie Gonzalez was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two runs batted in and two runs scored, Jaycie Cox was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and an RBI, Abby Webb was 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Babe Carter was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored and Channing Wilson doubled with two RBIs and two runs scored for Sallisaw.

Delaney Compton (1-4) got her first win of the season, getting three strikeouts in 1.1 innings. JoLee Curson went the final 1.1 innings with a strikeout.

VIAN 3, SALLISAW 1

After Sallisaw took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a wild pitch that scored Natalie Gonzalez, the Lady Wolverines (4-3) got the come-from-behind win with a two-run third inning and a single run in the fourth inning.

For the game, Tinley Gibson tripled and scored once, Halli Russell singled and scored once and Rayleigh Terrill and Cassidee Postoak each singled for Vian.

Postoak got the win, going the first three innings with a strikeout. Leila Cheater got her first save of the season, going the final two innings with a strikeout.

In defeat, Sydney Weedon was 2-for-3, while Gonzalez, Jaycie Cox, Abby Webb and Babe Carter all singled for Sallisaw. Delaney Compton suffered the loss, despite fanning five batters.

ROLAND 8, MULDROW 7

The Lady Rangers (3-2) broke a 7-all tie on Paisley Davis’ two-out, RBI double in the fifth inning.

Davis was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs batted in and two runs scored, Lillian Cole was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, Adriana Moya was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Kyleigh Knapp was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Laynie Roedenbeck was 2-for-3 and Addyson Clark hit a solo home run for Roland. McKinna Cooper (3-2) got the win.

In defeat, Haven Nickson was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, Amaya Duran and Kesslyn Pratt each doubled and scored once and Aliyah Duran tripled with two RBIs and a run scored for the Lady Bulldogs (4-2). Jaydin Dean (3-2) took the loss.

MULDROW 1, CENTRAL 0

Aliyah Duran’s RBI when she was hit by a pitch with an out and the bases loaded in the fifth inning walked it off for Muldrow.

For the game, Amarie Duran and Jaydin Dean each singled for Muldrow. Dean picked up the victory, striking out five batters in five innings.

In defeat, Alyvia Warner was 2-for-3 with a triple, while Addison Howard doubled for Central. Brenleigh Allen (0-5) was the hard-luck loser.

VIAN 4, ROLAND 0

Cassidee Postoak threw a six-inning one-hitter with two strikeouts.

The Lady Wolverines had a pair of two-run innings, one in the second inning and the other in the third inning, to break a scoreless tie.

For the game, Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while LaKoeta Cheater doubled with a run batted in and a run scored for Vian.

In defeat, the Lady Rangers got a double apiece from Aubriana Gragg and Paisley Davis. McKinna Cooper suffered the loss, despite getting four strikeouts.

MULDROW 10, SALINA 3

The Lady Bulldogs broke a 1-all tie with a seven-run second inning.

For the game, Amaya Duran was 2-for-2 with with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored, Haven Nickson was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, Kaydence Young was 2-for-2 with a double and a run a scored, Noelia Parga was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored and Jaydin Dean doubled with two RBIs and two runs scored for Muldrow. Dean got the win, fanning five batters in four innings.

ROLAND 4, STILWELL 2

The Lady Rangers broke a 2-all tie with single runs in the third and fourth innings.

For the game, Lillian Cole was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs batted in. McKinna Cooper got the victory, recording two strikeouts in five innings.

VIAN 8, SALINA 3

A six-run fifth inning rallied the Lady Wolverines for the comeback victory.

For the game, Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and a run scored, LaKoeta Cheater was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI and Sidney Cox was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored for Vian. Cassidee Postoak got the win, getting two strikeouts in five innings.

CENTRAL 7, STIGLER 4

The Lady Tigers broke a 1-all tie with a two-run second inning for a 3-1 lead. After the Lady Panthers cut their deficit to 3-2 after two innings, a four-run third inning put away the game for Central.

For the contest, Charlie Petree was 2-for-3 with a run batted in for Central. Addison Howard (1-0) got the win.

EUFAULA 18, CENTRAL 1

Eufaula pitcher Leah Green pitched a seven-hitter with four strikeouts. A 13-run first inning for the Lady Ironheads put away the game.

In defeat, Sadie Huff was 2-for-2, while Alyvia Warner, Charlie Petree, Brenleigh Allen, Addison Howard and Brianna Taylor all singled for Central.

Allen took the loss as she was knocked out of the game with one out in the opening inning. Howard went the final 2.2 innings.

PANAMA 6, CENTRAL 4

The Lady Razorbacks rallied from a 4-2 deficit with a four-run fifth inning for the come-from-behind win.

In defeat, Brenleigh Allen was 3-for-3 with a run scored, Keeley Poindexter was 2-for-3 with a run batted in and a run scored and Addison Howard was 2-for-3 with a three-run, inside-the-park home run.

Allen took the loss, despite getting four strikeouts.

STIGLER 12, VIAN 0

Stigler pitcher Addy Wallis threw a three-inning two-hitter with three strikeouts.

In defeat, LaKoeta Cheater and Tinley Gibson each singled for Vian.

Cassidee Postoak suffered the loss, going two innings. Leila Cheater went the final inning.
