Sallisaw students participate in Walk to School Day

Sallisaw Liberty and Eastside Elementary students participated in Walk to School Day on Oct. 1, by celebrating the benefits of walking and bicycling. Students and parents met at The Rink at 7:30 a.m. where they then walked from Sioux Street to the school. Healthy snacks were provided by the TSET Healthy Living Program of Sequoyah County. The school wishes to thank the Sallisaw cheerleaders for adding extra spirit to the event, along with event sponsors, Cherokee Nation Public Health, TSET Healthy Living, OSU Extension Community Health, People Inc. and the Sequoyah County Health Department.
