Local runners compete at state meets; 3 runners earn All-Star, All-State status

SHAWNEE — Three individuals and the Central Lady Tigers team competed at their respective state meets on Saturday at North Rock Creek High School.

In the Class 4A Boys State Meet, Sallisaw’s Sama Salinas was 13th (16:46, a personal best) to earn Oklahoma Cross Country and Track Coaches Association (OCCTCA) All-Star status with his top-15 finish as an underclassmen.

In the Class 2A State Meet, the Lady Tigers were sixth with 222 points.

For the Lady Tigers, freshman Sara Williams was 10th (12:32.8) to earn All-State status with her top-10 finish.

As for the rest of the Lady Tigers, Sadie Huff was 55th (14:07.8), Cambree Bair was 68th (14:29.5), Paris Campbell was 70th (14:31.1), Xhayla Mosby was 105th (15:22.4) and Scarlett Harrison was 106th (15:25.6).

In the Class 3A State Meet, Roland Lady Rangers runner Molly Carver was 21st (13:20.8) and earned OCCTCA All-State status by finishing in the top 25 as a senior.

In the Class 4A Girls S t a t e M e e t , Muldrow Lady Bulldogs runner Tiphany Martinez was 64th with a personalbest time of 13:29.6.
