OU women hold off Belmont behind Beers

NORMAN — Sophomore guard Sanaa Tripp nailed a wing 3-point basket late in the third quarter to give the Belmont University women’s basketball team a three-point lead at 54-51 on the road against the sixth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners.

However, the Bruins would be outscored 26-13 in the pivotal fourth quarter as top-10 OU pulled away for an 84-67 win in the season opener Monday evening at Lloyd Noble Center.
